
Each resident of Castlerea has the right:
- to quality care which is appropriate to their individual needs;
- to be treated with dignity and respect, and to live without exploitation, abuse or neglect;
- to live in a safe, secure and homelike environment;
- to continue their cultural and religious practices and to retain the language of their choice, without discrimination;
- to maintain their personal independence, and to continue making decisions about, the personal aspects of their daily life, financial affairs and possessions;
- to be involved in the activities, associations and friendships of their choice, both within and outside Castlerea;
- to be consulted on, and to choose to have input into, decisions about the living arrangements at Castlerea;
- to have access to information about their rights, care, accommodation, and any other information which relates to them personally;
- to complain and to take action to resolve disputes;
Each resident of Castlerea has the responsibility:
- to respect the rights and needs of other people at Castlerea;
- to behave politely to the other residents, staff and visitors at Castlerea;
- to keep themselves clean and tidy with any necessary assistance from staff;
- to care for their own health and well-being, as far as they are able;
- To keep their bedroom clean and tidy with any necessary assistance from staff;
- To help around the house as far as they are able;
